Several of our suppliers do workbenches but this is my favourite. Usually they are strictly adult-assembly items held together by a handful or two of metal screws.  I like this because the child itself can help screw it together using the big chunky wooden screws that he/she can twist in by hand - no screwdrivers here. It's good and sturdy and comes with the usual tools, a vice and plenty of wooden nuts and bolts.
